SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On December 22, 2012, at approximately 1133 hours, Vermont State Police responded to crash involving a motor vehicle and pedestrian within the Killington Post Office parking lot located at 2046 US Route 4, Killington, VT.

Upon the arrival of State Police, the pedestrian, Sean McKinnon, had been immediately transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center due to his injuries. The operator of the vehicle involved was identified as Doris Cormier who told police that she could not stop her vehicle as she pulled into the parking lot. Cormier advised that her car pinned McKinnon against the wall at which time she placed her car into reverse and backed into two vehicles parked nearby.

Investigation revealed that once Doris Cormier entered the Killington Post Office parking lot, she was unable to maintain control of her Lexis G47 at which time it collided into Sean McKinnon as he was walking alongside the building. McKinnon was pinned against the building’s exterior wall and forced into a large window. After colliding into McKinnon, Cormier placed her car into reverse and began to back away from McKinnon at which time she crashed into a 2003 Toyota Tundra and a 2000 GMC Jimmy of which were parked on the northern side of the parking lot.

Drugs and alcohol were not a factor in this crash.

The Killington Fire Department, Killington Rescue Squad and Rutland Regional Ambulance Service assisted at the crash scene.
